
Dr. John Sanville
MANAGING DIRECTOR, K-12 EDUCATION
Dr. John Sanville is a distinguished educational leader with over 30 years of experience at the local, state, and national levels. His expertise spans team building, crisis management, curriculum development, relationship building, and effective communication.
As the recently retired Superintendent of the Unionville-Chadds Ford School District (UCFSD), Dr. Sanville led the district through complex challenges while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration. Under his leadership, UCFSD was named School District of the Decade by the Pittsburgh Business Times. His legacy includes a strong coaching tree—many of his former colleagues now serve as superintendents, assistant superintendents, and principals across the region.
Dr. Sanville began his career as a middle school history teacher and soccer coach in Virginia. He later served as President of the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (PASA) and represented Pennsylvania on the Governing Board of the American Association of School Administrators (AASA). He is a sought-after speaker and consultant, regularly sharing insights at educational events nationwide.
Throughout his tenure, Dr. Sanville championed leadership development at all levels, making training accessible to every employee and encouraging creative, collaborative problem-solving. Known for his positive outlook, he often responds to the question “How are you?” with his signature phrase: “Never better.”
Dr. Sanville holds a B.A. from The George Washington University, an M.A. in Counseling from Virginia Tech, and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Virginia. He lives in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and enjoys playing soccer, attending Eagles games, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Debbie, and their dogs.
